I'm working for South Mountain Company on Martha's Vineyard, a long time client specializing in design/build, interiors, and energy. I still spend about 1/3 time consulting off-island on zero energy buildings, Passive Houses, Deep Energy Retrofits, and other projects that aim to stretch far beyond typical green buildings.
Plainfield School Prototype Classroom DER approach is now extended to the entire 1989 wing of the school. The wing used about 1 kWh/sf the first year of operation for heating and cooling!
Two Energysmiths' projects, the Holderness NH house and the Livermore DER, are among the first to be meet the Thousand Home Challenge!
