Our home in Meriden, NH is for sale.

As you might expect, it has some nifty features, energy and environmental. Yet aside from these features, it is a sun-filled and cozy home on a beautiful piece of land, in a neighborhood of great folks. It's also a carefully designed place in which to weather uncertain times - heat and hot water from the sun, a small greenhouse and a root cellar, raised bed gardens, and space to raise critters.

We're offering it at $290,000. We can  be reached at 603-469-3355.

Meriden  NH and the surrounding area information

Here's the south side:

The greenhouse is on the left, and the dining room on the right, with the solar hot water under the sloped glass of the dining room.

The lower east BR windows are just visible. The raised bed garden is just out of the photo, to the left.

Here's the  north side, showing the entry room and second floor sleeping porch with the glass roof:

The sleeping porch (the best room in the house!) from the upstairs hallway doorway:  The sleeping porch is also

a Lounge Room Extraordinaire...a bit of sunscreen, your favorite reading material and a comfy chair

will soon lead to a sunny snooze.

There are three levels to the house. The basement level has some dropped grades and large windows and it's where we have

two of the three bedrooms, one of which is my office. Here's the east BR:

And here's my office -- Energysmiths Central!

Also on this level is some unfinished basement and utility space, and a large root cellar (or wine cellar).

The upper level is a large bedroom and a bathroom.  Check out the natural light and warmth of the native cherry flooring.

Always nice to have a master bath...

The main level has an entry room, a 3/4 bathroom, kitchen and pantry/laundry, dining and living areas, and a small greenhouse.

Floors are maple and tile. The kitchen has all drawers for easy access. The stove area is set for both a full size gas or electric stove;

and there is wiring and plumbing for a dishwasher.  We have a generous walk-in pantry as well (not shown in this photo).

Our dining area looks out on the 560 sq. ft.of raised garden beds, the hummingbird feeder and back field and forest.  Note

location of the interior access greenhouse, which is both useful and an additional contribution to the experience of light and spaciousness..

Now, on to the living room.  The woodstove is the primary heat (propane gas forced hot water back-up) and it also heats hot water.

Here is the view as we head up the stairs.  Yes, the jade plant finds another home in the winter months.

Speaking of winter, here is the detached garage, an oversized one car garage (14' x 24') with the woodshed on the south side. It's fully insulated and drywalled.
